Intro to Birth
It’s so exciting that your little one is going to arrive soon!
Most parents spend a lot of time anticipating and thinking about the perfect nursery, perfect outfit for baby to wear home from the hospital, and the best/safest carseat, swing, and crib.
But what about the actual birth? Did you know that you have a say in how that goes down? In what happens? You have a choice in health care providers, when and how they touch you, and who accompanies you. You also have control in many things that can help you stay low risk, how to feed your baby once they arrive, and much more.
All this won’t just happen on its own, though. You *must* be prepared, and it’s important for you to know what your options are.
**If you don’t know your options, you don’t have any.**
Birth matters. Childbirth taps into every emotional, physical, and spiritual need a woman has. It taps into the core of your very being. Years from now you WILL remember the day you give birth.
Join me, Evie DeWitt, CLC, Birth Doula, and Childbirth Educator as I walk you through how to take control of your upcoming birth, things you can (and should) think about, and action you can take to make this the most empowering and beautiful experience you can imagine.

Breastfeeding 101
Being educated and prepared to get off to a great start will help set you up for the best breastfeeding experience. The early minutes, hours, and days following your baby’s birth are important and can make a big difference in your ability to reach your goals.

What do you believe about breastfeeding?
That it’s easy? That it’s hard? That it’s painful? That you probably won’t be able to do it because your mom or sister or grandma or friend or cousin’s friend’s step-brother’s grandma said it was too hard for her so it will obviously be too hard for you, too? That your body was made to do it and you know in your heart of hearts that you’ll be able to?
Some moms and babies have an easy time breastfeeding. Others don’t. Some have a *really* hard time reaching their goals. Others exceed their goals.
This is what I want you to believe: You CAN breastfeed. Your breastfeeding journey is not set in stone. Even if you haven’t reached your goals with past babies, you have the potential to reach them this time around. Even if your baby struggled last time, this baby is new and will have different abilities and strengths. This is a brand-new start.
